In this post, I am going to share with you my Shero Science Power C Serum Review. I remember hearing about Vitamin C in skincare here and there but never understood why it’s great for the skin. So when Shero Science hooked me up with this Power C AM serum, I wanted to learn more.
I did a little research (read: Google) and checked out their site only to wonder, “where has this been my whole life?” This particular serum has the benefits of both Vitamins C and E. Here’s what it is supposed to do:
- Smooths lines and brightens skin
- Reduces dark spots and hyperpigmentation
- Replenishes skin to restore glow
I like the way that they describe the benefits of using a Vitamin C serum in their Instagram post above.
You should start to notice a difference in about 2 weeks when used every morning on cleansed skin. Other things to note about this product and Shero Science are that it’s cruelty-free and made in the USA.

This serum was a generous gift from Shero Science. However, I am not being paid to post this product or review. I genuinely want to share what works and what doesn’t with you. Since I used this whole bottle up, I want to share my thought about it with you
My recommendations and reviews will always be honest regardless of whether I was gifted a product or not. You can read more about that on the review policy here.
Shero Science Power C Serum Review
Let me just clear the elephant in the room first. I didn’t have the fore site to take any before, during or after photos for you. This whole blogging thing is still new to me, but I’m learning as I go. Therefore, going forward, I am going to make it a point to take lots of photos when I do reviews like this.
Now that that’s out of the way, let’s get on with the review.
I used this daily according to the directions until the bottle ran out. The serum was not sticky or thick; it actually felt like water. I applied it to my face after cleansing in the morning and before any other serum, moisturizer, SPF, or makeup. My skin did not have any negative reactions and it was very light-weight and easy to wear.
I have a large hyperpigmentation spot under my left-eye that really bothers me and makes the dark circles under my eyes look bigger. While I was using this, I also used my prescription of hydroquinone.
I know that the hydroquinone did most of the heavy lifting, but using that in conjunction with the Vitamin C serum, significantly reduced several of the dark spots on my face, including the one under my eye.
Would I buy this and use it again? Yes. I haven’t yet because I try out a ton of products and am still working on perfecting my skincare routines. I will be posting more about that in the coming months, so don’t forget to check back.
Have you tried using a Vitamin C serum before? What were your results? I’d love to know in the comments below.
