Play by Sephora Review for February 2019

The Sephora Play subscription includes this zip-top plastic bag every month. Technically, it is reusable, but I’m not sure when and how I’ll reuse it. I do like them though.

What you’ll find in all subscription boxes is some sort of pamphlet or postcard with more information as to that month’s theme and the products included.

Let’s get on with the Play by Sephora Review for February 2019. Here’s what was included:

Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Rhubarb

Full Size Price: $26

From the brand:

  • Rich plum rose lipstick
  • Bold color in one swipe
  • Handcrafted in Canada
  • Made with natural and organic ingredients
  • Cruelty-free and leaping bunny certified, but not considered vegan
  • Free of gluten, parabens, phthalates, and sulfates

My thoughts:

This is the type of color that I like. The texture is nice, creamy and not dry at all. I especially love it because all I really need is one swipe to get full color.

Where to buy

Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation in 4N1 Shell Beige

Full Size Price: $43
Full Size Amount: 1 oz

From the brand:

  • 24-hour wear foundation
  • Provides a natural, matte finish and is lightweight
  • 55 shades available
  • Oil-free, oil-controlling, and won’t clog pores
  • Transfer resistant and waterproof
  • Medium-to-full coverage that is buildable
  • Fragrance-free

My thoughts:

I like this foundation with a single drop of face oil. I think it blends well and lasts a long time. This color isn’t an exact match, but it was close enough for me to make it work.

Where to buy

Lancome Hydra Zen Anti-Stress Gel Moisturizer

Full Size Price: $48
Full Size Amount: 1.7 fl oz

From the brand:

  • A comfortable gel-cream moisturizer, ideal for combination skin
  • Has a fragrance
  • Hydrating formula

Where to buy

Wander Beauty Baggage Claim Gold Eye Masks

Full Size Price: $25
Full Size Amount: 6 individually wrapped pairs

From the brand:

  • Supposed to brighten, hydrate and reduce the appearance of dark circles
  • Cruelty-free and vegan friendly
  • Free of BPA, parabens, phthalates, synthetic fragrance, and mineral oil

My thoughts:

I love eye masks. I still haven’t found one that makes a noticeable difference, but I still love using them. This one by Wander Beauty is no different.

Where to buy

Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask

Full Size Price: $45
Full Size Amount: 80 ml

From the brand:

  • Supposed to smooth and perfect skin overnight
  • Free of parabens, mineral oil, sulfates, phthalates, and synthetic dyes
  • Vegan and cruelty-free

My thoughts:

This stung my face a little. I tried this twice to be sure it wasn’t another products, and both times I used it I felt a slight burning tingle, so I stopped using it after that. I can’t say that I would recommend this one, but I do like the Laneige Water Sleeping Mask that I reviewed.

Where to buy

Dolce & Gabbana The Only One

Full Size Price: $94
Full Size Amount: 1.6 oz / 50 ml

From the brand:

  • A sophisticated, floral scent
  • Notes of violet, bergamot, coffee, iris, vanilla, and patchouli

My thoughts:

Fragrances are something you have to smell yourself and decide if its right for you. Everyone’s preferences are different. Additionally, the way fragrances react to our body chemistry is different for everyone, so you just gotta try a few out to see what you really like. This fragrance wasn’t for me.

Is Sephora Play worth the money?

I think so if you’ll use most of the products or you just like to try new stuff. If you want a more personalized experience and occasional brushes or full-size items, I suggest you check out Ipsy or the Allure Beauty Box.

However, if you are still curious as to whether or not this subscription is for you, I recommend that you check out my December 2018 and January 2019 reviews as well.
