Ipsy Plus Review for January 2019

Unlike the regular Ipsy Glam Bag, the Glam Bag Plus does not include a makeup bag. However, it does include full size products as you’ll see below.

Here’s what was included in the January 2019 box:

Ofra Cosmetics Highlighter in Rodeo Drive

Price: $35
Amount: 10 g

From the brand:

  • Baked formula
  • Refillable pan
  • Cruelty free

My thoughts:

A golden highlight shade made with pearl pigment adds a blinding glow. The magnetic compact is refillable which is a nice to know that they are doing something to help with packaging waste.

Where to buy

Murad Multi-Vitamin Infusion Oil

Price: $72
Amount: 1 fl oz

From the brand:

  • Non-comedogenic
  • For all skin types, even oily
  • Includes 6 key viamins A-F
  • Cruelty-free
  • Formulated without parabens, phthalates, and gluten

My thoughts:

I was really scared to use this because I wasn’t sure if it would break me out. However, I tried it anyways. I found that I like to add one single drop to matte foundation like the L’Oreal Infallable one. I find that it helps blend it out and it does not break me out.

Where to buy

Vasanti Cosmetics Matte Crush Lipstick Pencil in It’s Your Mauve

Price: $23

From the brand:

  • Velvety matte finish
  • Waterproof formula
  • Cruelty-free and vegan-friendly
  • Paraben-free

My thoughts:

I love lip crayons. This one applied smoothly, but I just don’t wear this color a lot.

Where to buy

Violet Voss Fun Sized Eyeshadow Palette in HG

Price: $18
Amount: 10 shadows

From the brand:

  • Includes creamy mattes and high impact foils
  • Cruelty-free

My thoughts:

This is a great quality palette. I don’t wear it as often as I should though because it’s really pretty and a great size to travel with.

Where to buy

Hey Honey Good Morning Honey Silk Facial Serum

Price: $45
Amount: 30 ml / 1 oz

From the brand:

  • Cruelty-free
  • S.L.S-free and paraben-free
  • Clean ingredients
  • Doubles as a primer
  • For all skin types

My thoughts:

Although this is a cruelty-free product and a part of PETA’s Beauty Without Bunnies project, I don’t think it can be considered vegan because it includes honey, which is created by an animal. If I am wrong, please let me know in the comments below.

I use this almost daily before I add my SPF and moisturizer. I like it but I don’t see any difference in my skin with this.

Where to buy

Briogeo Rosarco Milk Reparative Leave-In Conditioning Spray

Price: $20
Amount: 5 oz / 147 ml

From the brand:

  • For dry, damaged or brittle hair
  • Contains rosehip, argan and coconut oils
  • Safe for color-, keratin-, and chemically-treated hair
  • No harsh sulfates, silicones, phthalates, parabens, DEA, or artificial dyes
  • Cruelty-free
  • Ethically sourced and 90% to 100% naturally derived
  • Bottle is recycled and recyclable

My thoughts:

I’ve always just used a hair oil on my hair but started to notice that it was getting really frizzy. So I started using this and a few other leave-in conditioners before I brush out my wet hair and I do notice a difference. It hasn’t completely eliminated all frizz, but it made a difference.

I really like this brand and what it stands for and want to replace this when I run out and pick up a few other products as well. I recommend that you check this product and others from this brand out.

Where to buy

Ipsy Glam Bag Plus Add-Ons

Belle En Argent Lip Luire Lip Gloss in Bored Now

Price: $18
Amount: 0.22 oz / 6.4 g

From the brand:

  • Cruelty-free and vegan
  • Fragrance-free
  • No parabens, alcohols, or sulfates

My thoughts:

I love using this as a lip topper because it is a gold shimmer with a hint of pink. It looks pretty on its own as well. The formula is light and not sticky at all.

Where to buy

Naked Cosmetics Heavy Metal in HE-06

Price: $14.99
Amount: 1.5 g

From the brand:

  • Cruelty-free and a part of the Leaping Bunny Program
  • No fillers like talc, oil, or wax

My thoughts:

This is a pretty blue loose pigment shadow that you can apply to be sheer or add some more for a more bold look.

The website doesn’t do a very good job of explaining what the brand or product is.

Where to buy

Yensa Pumpkin Turmeric 2-in-1 Radiance Polishing Mask

Full-Size Price: $45
Full-Size Amount: 2.5 fl oz / 70 ml

From the brand:

  • A lightweight and exfoliating formula to polish and resurface skin
  • No parabens, sulfates, mineral oil, phthalates
  • Cruelty-free and vegan

My thoughts:

Be prepared for a strong turmeric scent when you use this.

Is the Ipsy Glam Bag Plus Worth the Money?

The Ipsy Glam Bag, and now the Glam Bag Plus, continues to be worth the money to me. Not only do I get to try products that I normally wouldn’t, but I also get to try them at a fraction of the price.

This box alone has a value of $213 (not including my add-on items), but it only cost me $25. So as long as the products you love and use from the box has a value above $25, then its worth it.
