Ipsy Glam Bag Review for March 2019

In this post, I am going to share with you my Ipsy Glam Bag Review for March 2019. The Ipsy Glam Bag that I am reviewing here is their $10 per month subscription. They also offer an upgraded version of this subscription called the Glam Bag Plus which includes only full-size items.

I typically don’t have any problems with Ipsy, except for the occasional missing item. This month I didn’t receive my bag in the time frame I was supposed to. I can tell from the tracking link that my bag had been shipped in a timely manner and that it was just stuck with the carrier. The Ipsy customer service was more than helpful and sent me a replacement.

This type of thing is inconvenient, but I don’t think it’s Ipsy’s fault. I guess it’s bound to happen from time-to-time with the number of items I have shipped to me.

Ipsy Glam Bag Review for March 2019

Each month of the subscription, Ipsy sends you a cute, on-theme makeup bag filled with all the items for the month. March is Women’s History Month in the U.S., so the bag reflected that theme with a quote saying, “and off she went to change the world.”

All subscriptions that I have include some sort of postcard or pamphlet like the one above. These things provide more detail about the types of products included as well as cue you in to that month’s theme.

Let’s get on with the Ipsy Glam Bag Review for March 2019. Here’s what was included this month.

Purlisse Coconut OIl + Coffee Body Butter

Full Size Price: $24
Full Size Amount: 6 oz / 170 g

From the brand:

  • A silky body butter for all skin types
  • The fruit extracts are supposed to promote elasticity
  • Gentle enough for everyday use
  • Contains fragrance
  • Not tested on animals, cruelty-free, and vegan
  • Bottles and cartons are almost entirely recyclable
  • Carton papers are from managed forests, and they use 100% wind energy when they are printed
  • No parabens, mineral oil, propylene glycol, phthalates, GMOs, or sulfates

Where to buy

Royal & Langnickel MODA Pro Precision Angle Brush

Price: $5.99

From the brand:

  • Superior quality brushes in shapes preferred by makeup professionals
  • Vegan, made with synthetic fibers
  • Moda renew and recycle is a program in partnership with TerraCycle in which they accept makeup brushes from any brand to be recycled, learn more about this program here
  • All plastic packaging is made from PET, which is a recyclable packaging material
  • Plans to reduce the use of plastics in packaging by 2025

My thoughts:

This brush is awesome! I have a similar on that I bought over 15 years ago by Smashbox. However, this one has rounded edges, which I like. I used this brush to apply the Space Case eyeshadow I got when I was playing around with makeup one night. It performed well when I applied the color to my upper crease area. I use this brush often.

Where to buy

Ciate London Mini Lip Lustre in Kiss Me

Full Size Price: £15
Full Size Amount: 2.7 ml / 0.09 oz

From the brand:

  • High-shine balm in a non-sticky formula
  • Strawberry scent
  • PETA certified cruelty-free and vegan

My thoughts:

This is such a pretty lip gloss. I love wearing it alone or on top of other lip products, especially matte ones. It is not sticky or thick.

Where to buy

Space Case Cosmetics Eyeshadow in Messy Lochnessy

Price: $9
Amount: 1.5 g

From the brand:

  • Medium evergreen shimmer
  • Vegan and cruelty-free
  • Non-toxic ingredients
  • Products are made in the USA and EU

My thoughts:

This color is gorgeous and I love wearing it. I’m starting to wear shimmery shadows more lately because a lot of shadows have it nowadays. I like this one is a lot.

Where to buy

Lottie London Shimmer Squad Highlighter in The Good Girl

Full Size Price: £9.95
Full Size Amount: 4 pan palette

From the brand:

  • Vegan formula, but not all from this brand
  • PETA certified cruelty-free (they do not sell in China, which requires animal testing)

My thoughts:

If you have any makeup subscriptions, I highly recommend that you buy an empty palette like this one from Amazon (affiliate link) to hold all of the single pans you may get. It even includes extra magnetic stickers just in case the pan isn’t already magnetic.

Add-On Items

Morphe Mini Bronzer in Enemy

Price: $7

From the brand:

  • Soft, matte shade

My thoughts:

This was too red for my skin tone, so I never wear it.

Where to buy

Morphe Mini Bronzer in Debutante

Price: $7

From the brand:

  • Soft, matte shade

My thoughts:

I like this color better than the one I mentioned above. I use it as a contour or bronzer often.

Where to buy

IBY Beauty Eyeshadow in Get Soaked

Full Size Price: $20
Full Size Amount: 12 shadow palette

From the brand:

  • Shadows are infused with rosehip seed oil
  • Vegan and PETA certified cruelty-free
  • No talc, mineral oil and parabens

My thoughts:

I don’t always gravitate towards pink shadows, but I really like the tone of this one and that it’s matte. I like using it with this really pretty metallic Model Co trio that I got in my February 2019 Allure Beauty Box. This would work well as a blush, in my opinion.

Is The Ipsy Glam Bag Worth The Money?

Ipsy continues to be one of my favorite monthly subscriptions. I like it so much that I also get the upgraded Ipsy Plus every month as well. I love that each month is tailored to my beauty profile. Additionally, I love that I have the option to add-on additional items for a very steep discount.

Check out these other reviews from February ’19, January ’19, December ’18, and November ’18 to get a better idea of the types of items you can get from this monthly beauty subscription (referral link).
