In this post, I will share with you my Ipsy Glam Bag review for September 2018. This is the longest beauty subscription (referral link) that I’ve had and with good reason. Every month Ipsy sends you a cute makeup bag which corresponds to that month’s theme and 5-6 deluxe-size samples of beauty products.
Ipsy send you customized products based upon your beauty profile, which you fill out when you subscribe. Therefore, the contents of my bag may be completely different from yours.
Read below to see what’s included was included this month’s bag.
What’s included in the ipsy Glam Bag?
Trestique Mini Lip Glaze in English Rose
Full size price: $25, but includes a primer balm
- Not tested on animals, cruelty-free
- Buildable formula
- No synthetic fragrances, D5, petrochemicals, and parabens
I’ve received 3 Trestique lip products in the various beauty subscriptions I get. I have loved all three. English Rose is a romantic pinky-red. The more and more I use these types of lip crayons, the more I prefer them over lipsticks. I would like to try some of their other colors.
Dirty Little Secret Cosmetics Bronzer in Skinny Dip
Full size price: $14
- Can be used wet or dry
- Cruelty-free, not tested on animals
- Gluten free
- Sheer bronzer that is buildable
This bronzer is creamy and I think would be great as a topper to a more opaque bronzer to give it a nice sheen. I like it but I don’t reach for it because I have scars on the places where I would apply this and the shimmer would just accentuate them.
Nomad Cosmetics Around-The-World Light Infusion Highlighting Blush in Positano Sunrise
Full size price: $17
Full size amount: 0.35 oz / 10 g
- PETA certified and cruelty-free
- No parabens, phthalates, talc, gluten or mineral oil
- 4x finer color pigments
- Infused with sunflower seed oil
- A bright peachy-pink blush with a highlight
I think this has a very nice formula, but the color was too bright and shimmery for my skin tone. I don’t like such shimmery blushes and I wouldn’t use it as a highlight because of the bright pink color.
Grace & Stella Rescue My Hair Mask
Full size price: $16.95
Full size amount: 300 g / 10 oz
- Includes argan oil, vitamin E, sunflower oil, and guava fruit extract
- No sulfates or parabens
- Not tested on animals
- A reparative hair mask with nourishing ingredients
I used my sample all up and there wasn’t anything that I didn’t like. However, there was nothing about this hair mask that stood out to me. I would be open to trying it again, though, since the sample I got was good for only about 2 uses.
Luxie Beauty Wonder Woman Detail Tapered Blender 140
Full size price: $20
- Synthetic bristles
- Vegan, cruelty-free and not tested on animals
- Limited edition Wonder Woman makeup brush with a pointed tip
- This brush can be used for eyeshadow or concealer
This brush certainly felt soft to the touch. The bristles were firm, so I don’t think it would be good for blending as the name implies, but it would be great for concealer or precise application.
Is the Ipsy Glam Bag worth it?
OMG yes! Each bag includes items that are customized to the preferences you specify as you’ll see in my other Ipsy reviews. I’ve found that even if there are some items I don’t like in my bag, the other items are actually products that I do like and make the bag feel like it was worth the 10 bucks.
I also subscribe to the Glam Bag Plus so be on the lookout for those reviews, too. All that to say, I love sharing with you my Ipsy reviews and I hope you like them as well. I’d love to know what you thought of this Ipsy Glam Bag review for September 2018, so let me know in the comments below.
