Ipsy Glam Bag Plus Review for March 2019
This is the inside of the outer shipping box.
All subscription boxes include a little pamphlet like this with more details about the products included. I think the code on the bottom right corner is the version of the box I got. It is BOX101MA19 1009411, if that means anything to you.
Huda Beauty Obsessions Palette in Mauve
Price: $27
Amount: 9 Eyeshadows
From the brand:
- Highly pigmented mattes and shimmers
My thoughts:
This palette is gorgeous and extremely pigmented. A little color adds a big punch. Very high quality and I use it often.
F.A.R.A.H Brushes 5-Piece Eye Perfection Set
Price: $50
Amount: 5 Brushes
From the brand:
- Vegan
- Light weight
My thoughts:
Three of these brushes are blenders of various sizes but they work exactly the same. I don’t notice a difference from using one over the other. They really buff out the color so that’s something you gotta be aware of.
I don’t like the handle at all. It feels really cheap and light.
Where to buy
Benefit Cosmetics Dandelion Shy Beam Liquid Highlighter
Price: $26
Amount: 10 ml / 0.33 fl oz
From the brand:
- Soft-matte, nude pink highlighter for a natural look
My thoughts:
I typically don’t like liquid or cream highlighters because something about the way it blends out and accentuates the scarring and texture of my face. This liquid highlighter is matte, so I was excited to try it even though it is light pink. I found that you have to work really fast with this product because it dries down fast.
After using this maybe 4 or 5 times, I realized just buying a light concealer works better than this. I like the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind for this because it provides light coverage and blends well.
Purlisse Blue Lotus Balancing Moisturizer
Price: $45
Amount: 1.7 oz / 50 ml
From the brand:
- Gel-cream moisturizer for the face
- Can be used daily, morning and night
- All formulas have been created with ingredient sensitivities in mind
- No parabens, petrochemicals, propylene glycol, phthalates, mineral oil, GMOs, sulfates, or animal by-products
- Cruelty-free and not tested on animals
- Bottles are almost entirely recyclable
Pixi by Petra LashLift 188 in Beyond Black
Price: $18
From the brand:
- Made with castor oil to condition lashes and promote fullness
- No parabens, phthalates, or sodium laureth sulfate
My thoughts:
This mascara wand is a really cool concept where the fatter one can be used for the top lashes and the skinnier one can be used for the bottom lashes. The formula is great; it held a curl and provided a lot of volume. The skinnier wand works great on my lower lash line; however, the bristles on the thicker wand aren’t bad, it’s just that it’s not great. The fatter wand has really short nubby bristles, but only on parts of the wand, not throughout the entire circumference.
Add-On Items
Huda Beauty Obsessions Palette in Smokey
Price: $27
Amount: 9 Eyeshadows
From the brand:
- Highly pigmented mattes and shimmers
- Sulfate-free
My thoughts:
I was taking a gamble buying this palette for $12 when I haven’t tried her formula before. I really like brown shadows so I bought it anyway. As I mentioned above, the formula of the Huda Beauty Obsessions palettes is amazing, so I am happy to have this in my collection because I use it a lot.
I will say this though: the shimmery colors have a ton of fall out, so I think they are meant to be applied with a wet brush. I tried it that way and I like the way it turned out. These colors are so dark and pigmented that they work great as an eyeliner, even the shimmery ones.
Where to buy
Ofra Cosmetics Star Island Highlighter
Price: $35
Amount: 10 g
From the brand:
- Refillable
- Warm ivory highlighter
- Liquid to baked highlighter
- Vegan and cruelty-free
My thoughts:
I knew I couldn’t pass up on this highlighter because I love the one I got from the December 2018 Allure Beauty Box all of the time. So I knew I would love this one and I do. I have to be really careful with shimmery products that I apply to my face because they accentuate my acne scars, so I only apply a little of this. A little goes a long way.
Where to buy
Finding Ferdinand Blush in Skinny Dip
Price: $14
Amount: 0.14 oz
From the brand:
- Cool tone
- High pigmentation
- Formulated without parabens, mineral oil, phthalates, triclosan, sodium lauryl sulfate, petroleum, talc, and gluten
My thoughts:
I knew I might not wear this blush often, but I bought it anyways because I was in need of a new one. It works just fine, but the colors isn’t something I gravitate towards. It is just the single pan so you have to add it to an empty palette like this one I got from Amazon. I have a few powders in my palette, but I just always forget to reach for it.
Is The Ipsy Glam Bag Plus Worth The Money?
As you can see from my January 2019 and February 2019 reviews, yes, I think it is worth the money. However, this really depends on your own personal preferences. This monthly beauty subscription (referral link) costs $25, so as long as the products you like from that month’s box has a retail price that is equal to or more than $25, it is a great deal.
I would love to know your thoughts on this Ipsy Glam Bag Plus Review for March 2019, so please let me know in the comments below.
