The difference between these two subscriptions is mainly that the upgraded version includes full-size products, similar to Boxy Charm.

Ipsy Glam Bag Plus Review for February 2019

This is the outer box that this subscription comes in. Any add-on items you selected are also included.

All subscriptions have some form of a pamphlet or postcard with details about the products and theme for the month.

Let’s get on with the Ipsy Glam Bag Plus Review for February 2019. Here’s what was included this month:

Tarte Dream Big Eyeshadow Palette

Price: $30
Amount: 8-limited edition shades

From the brand:

  • 8 shades with metallic and matte finishes
  • Contains Amazonian clay
  • Safe for contact lens wearers
  • Formulated without parabens, triclosan, mineral oil, phthalates, sodium lauryl sulfates, and gluten
  • Cruelty-free

My thoughts:

I was so let down when I got the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea palette in my January 2019 Boxy Charm because the pigmentation just wasn’t there. I had low expectation for this palette, even though I liked the color story. Turns out, this palette is amazing. It is super pigmented and blends well. There is a vanilla scent from vanilla extract to it, so I just want to put it out there for those of you who try to avoid products with fragrance.

The black and brown shadow works great, I just wish there wasn’t as many shimmers as there are. I know that goes against popular opinion, but I really like matte shadows. I only need one or two shimmers in a palette to be happy.

Where to buy

Maelle Beauty Sunkissed Bronzer Palette

Price: $29
Amount: 18 g / 0.63 oz

From the brand:

  • A versatile bronzing palette
  • Cruelty-free, leaping bunny certified, and vegan
  • Free of SLS, parabens, phthalates, fragrance, mineral oil, and gluten

My thoughts:

This palette is very, very pretty even though I try to take it easy on the shimmery powders. Shimmery products accentuate the acne scars and texture on my face to I have to use it sparingly. However, the colors are gorgeous and it blends well.

This is the perfect for travel or the days I’m in a rush because I can just swirl my brush in an area of the palette and apply to my cheeks. It’s hard to get specific colors because of the way this is laid out, but I really like it otherwise.

Where to buy

Finding Ferdinand Lipstick in Nob Hill Red

Price: $30
Amount: 0.1 oz

From the brand:

  • High-pigment lipstick with a creamy texture
  • A warm-toned red
  • Sample size available to purchase for $6
  • Contains a natural sunscreen and anti-aging ingredients
  • Formulated without parabens, mineral oil, phthalates, triclosan, sodium lauryl sulfate, petroleum, talc, and gluten
  • Not tested on animals
  • Does not use chemicals known to be harmful to the environment

My thoughts:

This color just doesn’t work for me. It applied nicely though.

Where to buy

It Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe Flat Top Buffing Foundation Brush #6

Price: $48

From the brand:

  • Best for powder foundations
  • Cruelty-free
  • Has donated over $24 million in products to help women with cancer

My thoughts:

Whether you use your hands, a brush or a sponge to apply your makeup is a matter of preference. I used to use my hands and occasionally a rounded foundation brush from Sephora until I started using these beauty blenders from Amazon.

The quality of the brush is nice, I just don’t reach for it all too often.

Where to buy

Son & Park Beauty Filter Cream Glow

Price: $32

From the brand:

  • Korean beauty brand
  • Includes flower extracts
  • Contains pearls so it is not vegan

My thoughts:

I loved this moisturizing cream and used it all up. It is perfect to use under makeup because it leaves your skin with a pink glow that makes your foundation look great.

Where to buy

Add-On Items

Huda Beauty Lip Contour in Icon

Price: $19

From the brand:

  • Easy glide, high-pigment lip pencil
  • Vegan
  • Paraben-free

My thoughts:

I love watching Huda Beauty tutorials and I know she makes high quality products, so I figured I’d try out one of her lip liners. This color goes well with red lip color and applies smoothly.

Where to buy

Eyeko Lash Alert Mascara Wake Up and Go

Full Size Price: $26
Full Size Amount: 8 ml

From the brand:

  • Long lasting
  • Contains fibers to add additional length
  • Contains beeswax so it is not vegan
  • Created in London, but made in South Korea

My thoughts:

This is a small sample size so the wand is very short and I wasn’t able use it on my top lashes, but I do use it for my bottom lashes and like it.

Where to buy

Touch In Sol No Poreblem Priming Water

Full Size Price: $23

From the brand:

  • Helps moisturize dry skin
  • Use alone or mix with foundation
  • Multipurpose oil for face, hair and nails
  • Natural and botanical ingredients

My thoughts:

I did not notice any difference whatsoever with this priming water. I’ve had it next to all my primers for a while now and I never use it.

I need to get into a better habit of reading the product websites before I start using a product because I had no idea this is more of a face oil than a primer. I will mix it in with my foundation next time I wear makeup.

Is The Ipsy Glam Bag Plus Worth The Price?

I typically get a ton of value from the Ipsy Glam Bag and Glam Bag Plus. This particular box has a value of $169, not counting the add-on items. My favorite items from this box are the eyeshadow palette, bronzing palette, and face cream. Each of those items alone cost more than the box, so this is definitely a great deal for me.

However, the value really depends on whether you will use and love the items included. As long as one of them costs more than the box, then I would say it’s a good value. To get a better idea of the types of items included in this monthly beauty subscription, check out my review of the January 2019 box.
