In this post, I am going to share with you my Birchbox Review for March 2019. This is the first Birchbox shipment that I’ve received. I’ve known about this monthly beauty subscription for a long time now, but I never joined because the product spoilers and reviews never attracted me. I felt like the Ipsy subscription was a better deal and just stuck with that.

Anyways, fast forward to now, Birchbox was going to increase their prices in order to focus on a better experience for their subscribers. So I decided to go out on a limb and sign up for their annual membership. This post along with the others that you can find here, will be my review of this subscription box to help you decide if it’s right for you.

About The Birchbox Subscription

Birchbox Review for March 2019

Each month includes a small box that fits the theme for that month. This is not the box it’s shipped in so it isn’t extremely durable, but it is cute and can be used for storage.

Pretty much every subscription I have includes a postcard or something similar that explains that month’s theme along with more details about the products included.

My thoughts:

I’ve read that build-up on your scalp can prevent your hair from growing, so when I used this I wanted to see if I can feel a difference on my scalp afterwards. I didn’t.

Where to buy

Arrow Boost Color Enhancing Lip Balm in Blush Hour

Full Size Price: $15
Full Size Amount: 0.14 oz

From the brand:

  • Hydrating lip balm that reacts to your body’s chemistry to create a unique pink shade which enhances your lip color
  • Cruelty-free and vegan
  • Paraben-free and gluten-free

My thoughts:

I’m a lip balm junkie. This one doesn’t feel like it penetrates through my lips, but I still use it to apply lightly before lipstick.

The brand claims that this lip balm is supposed to react to your body’s chemistry to add a slight pink tint to your lips. It actually does. In order to test it, I only applied this balm to the right side of my lips and it did make the right side of my lips appear pinker. The difference was subtle but noticeable.

My Clarins Re-Charge Relaxing Sleep Mask

Full Size Amount: 2 g

From the brand:

  • Precise pen liquid eyeliner
  • Created in London, made in China
  • Smooth, glossy finish
  • Long-wear and smudge-proof
  • Not tested on animals

My thoughts:

This eyeliner is nice and black. The tip is short, thick and firm, so it’s a matter of preference as to the type of applicator you like. I’m not great at doing winged liner and this didn’t help, but I was happy when I used this to apply a thin line.

  • How it works: “The aroma is inhaled when you breath in and is transported by the olfactory nerves which interact with the limbic system. This is the part of the brain that controls your mood and state of mind. Smell has a powerful effect on what goes on in the brain.

My thoughts:

I don’t know what it is about this, but I like it. My kids even like when I spray their pillows with it. I have a hard time falling asleep most nights and the nights that I remember to spray this, I do notice that I fall asleep sooner. I would buy this again when I run out.
