Allure Beauty Box Review for December 2018

In this post, I’ll share with you my Allure Beauty Box review for December 2018. This month’s contents are the reason why I subscribed in the first place.

I wrote a very thorough post about what the Allure Beauty Box is, so if you have any questions about it, I suggest you go check it out.

Girl, I was super excited to finally get to try an Ofra highlighter from this box. Seems like everyone raves about the blinding shimmer it gives your face. I was pretty excited about the eyeshadow palette as well. Anyhow, I’ve recorded the unboxing and included swatches so you can get a better idea of the colors and pigmentation.

I paid for a 3-month subscription with my own money. I thought this would be my first box, but surprisingly the I got the November 2018 box first.

Allure Beauty Box Review

Ofra X NikkiTutorials Everglow Highlighter

Full size price: $35

This highlight trio didn’t disappoint. It felt nice and creamy and went on like a dream. I don’t like the copper color and seldom use it, but the other two are gorgeous and I wear them frequently.

Is the full-size it worth the purchase? Yes; however, I would probably look for the 2 lighter colors and skip out on the copper. There isn’t anything wrong with the copper it’s just that I don’t care for that color as a highlighter.

This is a limited edition trio created specifically for the Allure Box

  • Made in USA

Juvia’s Place Nubian Eyeshadow Palette

Full size price: $20

This eyeshadow palette includes 6 full-sized pans of warm-toned shadows. The one included in this month’s box is a smaller version of the full-size palette which includes 12 coordinating shadows. This is a great palette to have because of the amount of pigmentation and selection of colors allows for many beautiful looks.

NYX Professional Makeup Lip Lingerie in Caberet Show

Full size price: $6.99

I have a very round face so I like to draw as much attention away from the perimeter of my face towards my lips and eyes. So I tend to gravitate towards mauvy tones so I loved that is a mauvy brown. The doe foot is kinda messy and holds globs of this liquid lipstick so I have to wipe off product along the rim of the tube before I apply it.

REN Clean Skincare Evercalm Overnight Recovery Balm

Full size price: $48

Have you every used Aquaphor? This is what it felt like to me. I used it on my face once and didn’t like the greasy feel of it so I just used it for my decolletage and hands before bed.

LASplash Art-Ki-Tekt Waterproof Slim Eyeliner

Full size price: $14

I know this is gonna sound weird but I couldn’t figure out what type of tip is has. It kinda looks like a brush with the fibers stuck together. Anyway, the formula felt pretty thin and wasn’t very opaque.

Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelette

Full size price: $7.99

I know a lot of people swear by using makeup remover wipes, but I just can’t get into them. The formula always stings my skin a little, I don’t like the wiping feeling and it takes a lot of work to get all the eye and face makeup off. It’s just more efficient for me to use my trusty Purpose face cleanser. I will say that I do like having wipes on hand for clean up when I’m applying my makeup. Keep in mind this is for the individually wrapped towelettes, not the big pack you’re used to seeing at the store.

Is it worth the purchase? Sure, for travel. I would just stick with the bigger pack if you are planning on using them at home for your normal routine.

Is the Allure Beauty Box Worth It?

Yes, I think so. All-in-all I am happy with this month’s box. Even though the eyeliner and balm weren’t my favorites, I still made use out of them.
